Summer is camp time and camp is all about fun and faith. This summer, overnight camps within our CBOQ family continue to not disappoint. Over one thousand youth, from children to teens, from all over the province have been coming to experience what our camps have to offer. From the moment the campers arrive, they know they are in for an extraordinary experience. With laughter echoing through the towering trees, the campgrounds are buzzing with excitement. Nestled amidst the serene beauty of nature, our picturesque camps continue to serve as a haven for adventure seekers and nature enthusiasts alike.
Summer Camp proves to be a paradise for young adventurers seeking a summer filled with excitement and camaraderie. The campers enjoy a variety of exciting activities, such as rock climbing, paddleboarding, and archery, among many others. Under the guidance of enthusiastic counsellors, campers explore the wonders of nature, fostering a deep appreciation for the outdoors and a sense of God’s creative and loving presence.
Most camps feature a Leaders-In-Training (LIT) program to immerse young leaders-in-the-making in a multi-week journey of leadership, self-discovery, and skills development. Aspiring leaders aged 16 to 17 immerse themselves in team-building exercises, workshops, and leadership training sessions, emerging as confident and compassionate individuals ready to share God’s love and make a positive impact on younger campers.
Many camps also offer family overnight camps, which create an extraordinary bonding experience. Parents and children alike revel in an array of vespers, interactive camp activities, storytelling around the campfire, and exploring the great outdoors together.
Beyond the activities and programs, the camps’ picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for these unforgettable experiences. The lush forests, sparkling lakes, and star-filled nights enrich each adventure and reinforce the connection between the campers, nature, and God.
Summer camp is more than just a place; it is an embodiment of adventure, growth, and togetherness, all tied together with faith and fun. The camps’ carefully crafted and fun-filled programs, combined with its beautiful surroundings, have once again ensured that everyone who experiences what they have to offer is leaving with life-long memories and friends. So many campers come back as counselors or volunteers even after they are in university or working full time. We are so grateful for the summer camp staff who sacrifice and serve each summer to help kids meet and grow closer to Jesus.
