Preheat oven to 350 F
1/2 cup softened butter
1 1/4 cups brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup canned pumpkin or fresh cooked and mashed
2 cups all purpose flour
4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp ginger
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1 cup chocolate chips
In a large bowl cream together butter and brown sugar. Beat in eggs and add vanilla and pumpkin.
Next sift together the remaining ingredients in a medium sized bowl. Add these to the creamed mixture in the large bowl and stir well. Drop by tablespoonful onto greased cookie pans. Bake in 350 F oven for 10-12 minutes until lightly browned.
