Description

The primary function is to provide administrative support and facility management for the activities of the church. As first point of contact, the Office Manager provides the voice and face of Kingsway to the wider community.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Statement of Ethical Pastoral Conduct of the CBOQ (located at https://baptist.ca/wp-content/uploads/2020/11/Statement-of-Ethical-Pastoral-Conduct-sign.pdf).
  • University/college business graduate preferred
  • Previous experience in financial accounting, HR administrative procedures, Health and Safety regulations and training procedures considered an asset
  • Previous experience in an Administrative role preferred
  • Applicant must be eligible to permanently work in Canada.
  • Our chosen candidate will be required to submit a current Criminal Reference Check

Role and Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Carry out the full range of activities to effectively organize and run the church office.
    • Collaboration with the custodian if there are conflicting priorities for day-to-day cleaning and maintenance of the church, and liaise with the Chair of Facilities on church facilities and property as required.
    • Collaborate with the bookkeeper when required regarding finance and accounting matters, under the direction of the Chair of Finance
  • Provide administrative support to the Lead Pastor, Elders’ Board, and board committees for good governance and organization.
    • Implement personnel-related administration under the direction of the Chair of the Personnel Committee and board administrative implementation under direction of the Elders Board.
  • Provide administrative support to implement our Vision and Mandates.
  • Be the primary communication lead for the church.
    • Maintenance of church website
  • Carry out special projects as assigned
    • Assist with administrative details of special services (e.g., funeral services, weddings, and Leadership retreats etc.)
  • Continuously improve, innovate and problem solve within the scope of the role
