Delta Baptist Church is seeking a part time lay or bi-vocational pastor. At Delta Baptist we see the church as a community of God’s people. We ask God to provide a pastoral leader who shares our values, vision, and mission and will come alongside us in our journey of being God’s people in this time in this community. We are seeking a pastor who is a committed follower of Jesus with a love for God and for the congregation. A person who is approachable, has a humble spirit, and a vision for God’s work within the congregation and community.

Overview of Church and Community
Delta Baptist Church exists in the rural community of Delta Ontario in the Township of Rideau Lakes. Delta is home to the Lower Beverley Lake Campground and the Old Stone Mill National Historic site. Delta is a welcoming community with a great group of volunteers and community organizations. Delta is nestled within the Ottawa- Kingston- Brockville region and has access to high speed fiber internet service. Many opportunities exist for employment and entrepreneurship.
Delta Baptist Church had its beginnings in 1810 and has been in the present building since 1880. Delta Baptist invites its members to live by kingdom values in our personal lives, in our church, and in our community. There is a willingness to shape our church in new and meaningful ways to live out our values and reach our vision.
We recognize our call to be followers of Jesus and our call to be proclaimers of the good news of the gospel. We see the church as a gathering of God’s people, a place where integrity in all of life is developed, and respect for one another is fostered. Qualifications and Education Requirements
Delta Baptist Church is a member of the Canadian Baptist of Ontario and Quebec family of churches and the Ottawa Baptist Association. Candidates for pastoral position shall have or be prepared to have credentials recognized by CBOQ. We are seeking a lay or bi-vocational pastor with a growing knowledge of the Scriptures and an ability to build positive connections with others. The pastor will work with the Board in giving leadership and pursuing the vision of the church.
Role and Responsibilities
The pastor shall be involved with the Board of the church in maintaining and developing:
- Sunday Service with quality preaching and vibrant music
- Pastoral Care: keeping connected with our members and being there for our community in times of need (illness, funerals, etc.)
- Prayer
- Fellowship/Social times
- Community connections: building relationships within our community
- Living as faithful followers of Jesus within our community
