Indigenous Pathways

ABOUT THE CONFERENCE Reconciliation has many facets. It begins with an acknowledgement that something went wrong between two people or two groups of people – that relationship has been severed. Usually this acknowledgement includes, and, most often begins with an apology. In Canada, for example, the Truth and Reconciliation Commission was established, following an all-party apology in the House of Commons, June 11, 2008, to pursue two noble goals – uncovering the truth, and seeking reconciliation with Canada's Indigenous peoples. The purpose of this conference Walking Together, is to focus on next steps beyond the TRC. Indigenous Pathways is working together with clergy and leaders of the Thunder Bay and area church community to host this event. Among the critical areas of focus for the conference will be the challenge of Chief Justice Murray Sinclair concerning reconciliation in the aftermath of the Truth part of the TRC mandate. Register today, and be a part of the conversation of what the journey of reconciliation looks like in Thunder Bay and NW Ontario. For more information, email info@walkingtogethertbay.com
