Description

Dear Pastor,

Thank you for your interest in the Senior Pastor position at Trinity Baptist Church. Located in the heart of Vancouver, BC, our congregation is a vibrant, multicultural community dedicated to the Great Commission and the historic Baptist distinctives.

On January 27, 2026, our Board approved a comprehensive job description that reflects our current needs and our hopes for the future. We are seeking a shepherd who walks the talk—an experienced leader with a deep love for God’s Word and a heart for people.

Why Trinity?

Our church is at an exciting juncture. We are looking for a leader who can:

  • Shepherd a Diverse Flock: We value our cultural diversity and seek a leader who is enthusiastic about working in a multicultural setting.
  • Mentor and Multiply: We are committed to nurturing the spiritual gifts of our pastoral staff and lay membership alike.
  • Lead with Balance: We prioritize healthy rhythms of work, rest, and self-care, ensuring our pastor can sustain a fruitful, long-term ministry.
  • Bridge the Traditional and Contemporary: We respect our worship traditions while remaining open to new, contemporary expressions of faith.

Our Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will hold a post-graduate degree from an accredited theological seminary and be eligible for accreditation with the Canadian Baptists of Western Canada (CBWC). While a strong command of English is required, the ability to speak Mandarin is considered a significant asset for our community. Above all, we are looking for a person of prayer who can navigate conflict with grace and serve as a spiritual advisor to our Board and congregation.

We invite you to prayerfully review the attached job description. If you feel called by God to explore this opportunity, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your philosophy of ministry to office@tbcvancouver.ca.

We look forward to seeing how the Lord will lead us in this search.

Blessings,
Trinity Baptist Church
