GCF Durham is seeking a God-called and Spirit-led pastor to shepherd our congregation, inspire spiritual growth, and guide us toward fulfilling the Great Commission. Our ideal candidate is a compassionate leader who is deeply rooted in Scripture and committed to fostering a Christ-centered community in the heart of Durham Region.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in theology, pastoral ministry, or a related field; seminary training preferred.
- Ordained or eligible for ordination with experience in pastoral ministry.
- Hold accreditation or be in process of obtaining accreditation with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ)
- A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with GCF Durham’s mission and values.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preaching and Teaching
- Prepare and deliver biblically sound, relevant, and inspiring sermons.
- Oversee and participate in Bible studies, small groups, and discipleship programs.
- Pastoral Care
- Provide spiritual counseling and guidance to individuals and families.
- Visit and support members during times of need, such as illness, grief, or crisis.
- Leadership and Administration
- Collaborate with church leaders and volunteers to plan and execute ministry initiatives.
- Provide visionary guidance and lead strategic planning for church growth and engagement.
- Evangelism and Community Outreach
- Develop and lead outreach programs to engage with the local community.
- Encourage and train the congregation in evangelism and relational ministry.
- Children, Youth and Family Engagement
- Actively involve children, youth and young adults in church life.
- Promote family-centered ministries and foster intergenerational connections.
- Praise and Worship
- Work closely with the worship team to create spiritually uplifting services.
Preferred Skills
- Strong cultural awareness
- Proven track record on evangelism and pastoral ministry
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in ministry and pastoral experience
