At First Baptist Church, we are growing together in faith, connection, and purpose. This summer, seeds of faith were planted through two meaningful outreach events: Summer Sports Camp and VBS. God used these impactful experiences to prepare hearts for the season ahead.
Sports Camp, in partnership with Scripture Union Canada, welcomed 24 campers—20 from the community—with 12 deciding to join Jesus’ Team. The theme, Jesus is the Light, shone through sports, skits, small groups, and testimonies. Campers grew in confidence and friendship, including children with different abilities who were supported and included.

Former campers, now Jr. & Sr. High youth, stepped up as Jr. Helpers and Assistant Coaches—gaining valuable leadership experience. Seniors served in the kitchen, and adult volunteers supported campers, helping them feel seen, heard, and loved. Many from our congregation prayed daily leading up to the camp. Families were invited to a closing BBQ—a time of connection and celebration. It was a beautiful picture of intergenerational ministry and shared purpose.
Our one-day VBS welcomed 16 children, mostly from the community. With the theme BUILD: Building Our Lives on the Solid Rock of Jesus, kids rotated through stations for games, music, crafts, snacks, and Bible stories. Families received take-home Builder Booklets with verses, challenges, and encouragement. As a team, we saw firsthand the value of creating a safe, supportive space for children. One camper shared he felt happy and safe at camp because of the people here.

Building on summer momentum, we followed up with families and those who made faith decisions. Some have already expressed interest in joining our programs.
We are humbled to be part of God’s work—reflecting His love and compassion through faithful service. Our desire is to nurture the seeds sown and trust God for the results.
