Overview of Church and Community
Tyrrell Baptist Church gathers for Sunday worship (10:30 a.m) Bible studies Thursday evenings (7:00 p.m). Other special events. Meetings take place at the church building located at the southeast corner of Cockshutt Road and Concession 13 (map) just 11 km from the town centre of Simcoe in Norfolk County.

Our community of faith desires to grow in faith, together we immerse ourselves in God's story and celebrate the love that God has for us in an open and safe environment. TBC offers a space to discover how God is present today, using scripture, christian fellowship and being examples of God's love.

Contractual Requirements
Upon selection, the pastor agrees to:
- Submit an updated criminal reference check (within one month of selection), including vulnerable sector screening.
- Agree to a ministry covenant prepared by the Deacons, Trustees, and Treasurer on behalf of the members and adherents of TBC, which outlines expectations, terms of employment, and responsibilities.
Role and Responsibilities
- Uphold TBC’s Statement of Faith:
- Adhere to and promote the principles outlined in TBC’s Statement of Faith, which includes core beliefs about Scripture, the Holy Trinity, Jesus Christ, salvation, the Holy Spirit, and the ordinances of baptism and communion.
- Conduct Public Worship Services:
- Lead and organize the public worship services, ensuring all activities align with the Statement of Faith and the doctrine of TBC.
- Administer the Ordinances:
- Baptism: Perform water baptism in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit as an act of obedience and identification with Christ.
- Communion: Oversee the regular observance of the Lord’s Supper as an active remembrance of Christ’s sacrificial death.
- Pastoral Care and Instruction:
- Coordinate the pastoral care and instruction of the congregation, ensuring spiritual growth and adherence to TBC’s teachings and practices.
- Encourage and instruct new membership from within the church and community, following the guidelines outlined in the Membership section of the TBC Constitution.
- Conduct Regular Visitation:
- Regularly visit church members and adherents, ensuring their spiritual well-being and fostering a sense of community.
- Cooperate with the Board of Deacons and Other Organizations:

- Work closely with the Board of Deacons, which the pastor reports to and seeks counsel from, and ensure active participation in all boards and committees, except the finance committee.
- Cooperate with external organizations that TBC is affiliated with, ensuring alignment with TBC's mission and values.
