The Senior Pastor will provide spiritual and pastoral leadership to the congregation, guiding GBC in worship, prayer, discipleship and community outreach. This role requires a servant leader who is passionate about equipping others for ministry, fostering spiritual growth, and balancing church responsibilities with family life.

Geary Baptist Church (GBC) is a multi-generational congregation located in Geary, New Brunswick. Affiliated with the Canadian Baptists of Atlantic Canada (CBAC) and the Queens-Sunbury Association, GBC is committed to serving both its members and the wider community. The church offers modern, accessible facilities, including a 225-seat sanctuary, classrooms, a gymnasium and a kitchen.

The Greater Geary Area, with a population approximately 5,000, includes Haneytown, Waterville-Sunbury, Geary and French Lake. Local amenities include an elementary school (K-Gr 5), small businesses, recreational facilities and the Geary Lions Club.

GBC is conveniently located just 10 minutes from Oromocto, near the 5th Canadian Division Support Base (5CDSB) Gagetown and the Oromocto First Nation (OFN). Oromocto, with a population around 10,000, offers essential services, businesses and recreational opportunities, including an indoor pool, fitness centers, a golf course, ice rinks and various team sports. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the ATV and snowmobile trails, scenic walking paths and parks. Oromocto’s location along the Saint John River provides access to a marina and tidal waters, ideal for fishing and boating.

Fredericton, the capital city of New Brunswick, is 20 minutes away and is home to the University of New Brunswick, St. Thomas University, the New Brunswick Community College and other post-secondary learning institutions. Fredericton also offers major healthcare services, recreational activities, shopping centers, a busy downtown, and numerous markets.

Based on Micah 4:5, we desire to follow Jesus through worship, sharing faith, building community, learning together, and serving others. GBC will focus on spiritual growth, with a particular emphasis on prayer.

• Meets the requirements for pastoral leadership as outlined in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
• Maintains a vibrant personal relationship with Jesus Christ, demonstrated through daily spiritual disciplines such as Bible study and prayer.
• Models’ integrity, humility, and a servant-leader mindset in life and ministry.
• Accreditation from a recognized seminary or divinity school or significant ministry experience.
• Possesses strong leadership skills and strategic thinking capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to plan and lead organized worship services, meetings and events.
• Effective communicator with strong interpersonal and relational skills, able to connect with people of all ages and backgrounds.
• Minimum three years’ experience in full-time pastoral ministry.
• Ordained or candidate for ordination pastoral ministry.

• Preaching and teaching: Prepare and deliver Bible-based sermons and lessons to promote spiritual growth and discipleship.
• Spiritual Leadership & Vision: Communicate God's vision, leading worship, provide spiritual guidance, and uphold biblical truth.
• Discipleship: Lead the congregation in fulfilling the Great Commission, fostering Christian maturity and practical Biblical understanding.
• Evangelism: Develop and lead outreach initiatives to share the Gospel within the community.
• Community Engagement: Build relationships and connect with the broader community.
• Ministry Oversight: Oversee church administration, finances and programs to ensure effective ministry execution.
• Staff & Leadership Development: Supervise church staff and empowering lay leaders.
• Pastoral Care: Shepherd the congregation, provide counseling, visitation, and officiate life events such as weddings, funerals and baptisms.
