In May 2022, just as the world was reopening after the latest COVID lockdown, Reverend Shawn Veitch became the Lead Pastor at First Baptist Church, Smiths Falls.
Our church had been without a pastor for almost a year, so it was wonderful to have a shepherd leading us once again.
Pastor Shawn uses real-life stories and relates them to the Word and love of God. His messages are captivating and relatable and convey the meaning of God’s love for his flock every Sunday.
Each year (September to September), he selects a word as a theme for not only his messages but for every way in which we as a church and individuals commit to serving the Lord. His first theme was JOY, and this past year the theme was HOPE, and this coming year we will be focusing on LOVE as our theme.
Pastor Shawn has changed our Wednesday night Bible studies into a prayer meeting. His devotion to prayer is evident in all that he does, but particularly at this weekly meeting. We meet and pray for relevant issues globally, locally, and within our church family. As our small but mighty group of prayer warriors sees answers to our prayers happen, it opens us up more to trusting God for everything.
His love for the Lord shines through every Sunday and in everything he does. He participates in community faith meetings with other pastors in Smiths Falls and the surrounding area. He takes calls and meets with individuals who reach out to the church for guidance.
First Baptist Church Smiths Falls has been so blessed with the leadership of Pastor Shawn.
