For Pastors and Ministry Leaders

This has possibly been THE hardest season for ministry leaders. A storm we all found ourselves in. As a result, there is so much grief and loss, and much of it has not been identified or acknowledged. Pete Scazzero in Emotionally Healthy Discipleship says: God saw my losses as requirements in order to mature in Christ. The treasures buried deep in my sorrows contained the gifts I needed to grow into an emotional and spiritual adult.”

Karen Heppner, a member of our Discipleship Culture lead team, will be hosting, and Marian Boyd will be facilitating, an interactive virtual event on Thursday, February 24 from 10:00 – 11:30 for PASTORS AND MINISTRY LEADERS: “PAYING ATTENTION TO LOSS”.

Pastors and ministry leaders often don’t have a space where they feel safe for this kind of work. This will be a safe space. From personal loss to loss of church members you have invested in, staff that have left, releasing staff because finances aren’t as they used to be, loss of giving and financial stability in your church, loss of volunteers, loss of connection … The list goes on. Marian will begin to come alongside as you begin to pay attention.

Marian has over 30 years of experience as a psychotherapist and grief counsellor. She is kind, gentle in spirit, and incredibly gifted. She has co-authored a series of books called Remember, It’s OK.
