The Church & Charity Law Seminar™ Goes Virtual!
Thursday, November 5, 2020
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Carters 2020 Annual Church & Charity Law Seminar™ goes virtual this year in more ways than one. First, the seminar will be held as a webinar this year so you can participate from the comfort and safety of your office or home. Second, the main theme this year is the legal issues that churches and charities are facing in having to operate virtually, given the impact of the pandemic. Each topic will be 20 minutes in length, including Q&A, so the webinar will be presented in 2 two-hour modules starting at 9:00 am and finishing at 1:25 pm. ET
The special speakers this year will be The Honourable Ratna Omidvar, C.M., O.Ont., Senator for Ontario and Former Deputy Chair of the Special Senate Committee on the Charitable Sector, as well as Tony Manconi, Director General of the Charities Directorate of the Canada Revenue Agency. The presentations by the special speakers will include longer Q&A sessions.
The 2020 Church & Charity Law Seminar™ has been held every year since 1994 and is presented by Carters Professional Corporation, a law firm with offices in Toronto, Ottawa and Orangeville and expertise in the law of churches, charities, and not-for-profit organizations operating across Canada as well as internationally.
This year, the cost of registration for this webinar has been reduced to $20.00 per person to make sure that as many people from any church or charity can attend as possible. On Demand Replay will not be made available to the general public, so the only way to access the presentations will be to register for the webinar.
