Social Media Resources

Check out these resources to get you started on your church’s social media journey!

1. Why This Toolkit?

Social media is one of the easiest ways for churches to stay connected with their communities. Beyond sharing encouragement and Scripture, it’s also a powerful tool for keeping your congregation up to date on important events, meetings, and ministry opportunities.

This toolkit provides ready-to-use posts, graphics ideas, and best practices to help you get started share online without starting from scratch.

2. Getting Started
  • Choose Your Platforms: Most churches use Facebook, Instagram, and sometimes X (Twitter).
  • Keep It Simple: You don’t have to post every day, start with 2–3 times a week.
  • Use Visuals: Posts with photos or graphics always perform better.
  • Stay Engaged: Reply to comments and encourage conversation.

3. Best Practices for Churches
  • In addition to provided graphics, use high-quality photos of your congregation and events (with permission). You don’t need a professional camera for these – you can use your phone!
  • Post at consistent times (mornings and evenings often work best).
  • Include your church’s name, service times, and website in your bio.
  • Add hashtags like #ChurchFamily, #SundayService, #FaithInAction, or create one unique to your church.
  • Keep captions friendly and warm, as if you’re inviting someone personally.
Downloads

Download graphics for different events throughout the year such as baptisms, BBQs, Easter, Christmas and more! These are also available in Chinese, Spanish, and French.
