This role reports to the Team Lead, Communications and is responsible for the development and creation of multimedia content that informs, educates, and encourage CBM’s donors, supporters, and potential new audiences. This includes creative content and design, excellence in storytelling, and the technical implementation skills for both audio and video.

CBM works strategically alongside a network of partners in over 25 countries, providing assistance in the following areas: Building the Church, Justice, Kids at Risk, Poverty, and Crisis Response.
Role and Responsibilities
MULTIMEDIA PRODUCTION 55% Time
- Collaborate creatively with the Team Lead, Communications, and other departments as needed, to implement the creative production process of projects from start to finish: Distill the message
- Write scripts, convey ideas, and deliver information in a clear and effective way
- Capture video and photos that contribute to the focus and message of a story
- Record and edit sound files and soundtracks for media productions
- Edit digital materials to produce a professional final product
- Ensure that all productions meet technical and brand requirements for use in a range of communications, including print and digital formats and promote an appropriate image in-line with CBM’s values.
- Oversee video and podcast production timelines
- Produce professional-quality videos, motion graphics, photographic, online communication, and broadcast assets for use by a range of staff, partners, and constituents
- Coordinate multimedia content and logistics for special events
- Design and produce print materials
STORYTELLING AND CONTENT DEVELOPMENT 40% Time
- Collaborate creatively with the Team Lead, Communications, and other departments as needed, to identify and develop stories and narratives that convey the impact of our global work
- Write and produce stories and supporting content across various platforms
- Contribute to strategic campaigns and donor messaging
- Provide creative input into the design and marketing of CBM’s communication and fundraising campaigns
GROWTH 5% Time
- Attend/participate in weekly CBM Chapel and contribute to the overall spiritual growth of the organization
- Ensure successful completion of other tasks, as assigned
Preferred Skills
Skills/Knowledge Required:
- A strong commitment to social and economic justice, as well as good understanding of Christian mission
- Must accept CBM’s Core Values (see www.cbmin.org)
- Willing to sign off on CBM’s Community Covenant, Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
- Post-secondary degree in media arts
- Ability to capture and edit video footage and photography to create a coherent and compelling story
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and an ability to frame issues for different audiences
- Excellent organizational, collaboration, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team environment to achieve common goals on time
- Conversant with web and mobile standards, cross-browser and platform issues, accessibility and usability required, as well as HTML, XHTML and CSS
- At least five years of experience in the operation of studio and handheld video and photography equipment
- 3 years effective project management experience
- Competent in using current video editing programs; components of Adobe Creative Suite and similar applications
- Excellent graphic design skills
- Experience in creative storytelling through various mediums
- Ability to create interactive media
- Production of educational materials background an asset
- Able to travel overseas as required
