Description

Pastor of Congregational Development to join our ministry team in doing ministry with refugees and newcomers in our community.

(Note: This is a 2-Year Contract position)

Thornhill Baptist Church is a growing intercultural, intergenerational church serving the communities of Thornhill, Richmond Hill and north Toronto. We are united by our commitment to Christ and our desire to glorify God through our worship and service.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

M.Div degree or equivalent or pursuing theological education

Role and Responsibilities

  • Helping our congregation develop as we reach out to refugees and newcomers in our community and introduce them to the life of our church.
  • Providing support and assistance to persons making refugee claims.
  • Discipling new Christians as they grow in their faith.
  • Assisting in leading worship, including preaching from time to time.

  • Strong Christian faith
  • A deep commitment to a holistic approach to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Interest in working with refugees and other newcomers to Canada
  • Passion for discipling new Christians
  • Ministry experience
  • M.Div. degree or equivalent or pursuing theological education
