Description
We are looking for a Cantonese pastor/evangelist to serve in the Cantonese ministry, building up the spiritual lives of believers through preaching, teaching, training and pastoral care.
Overview of Church and Community
The Montreal Chinese Baptist Church (MCBC) was founded in 1975 and is located in downtown Montreal, Quebec, Canada, north of Chinatown and east of McGill University. Since its establishment, the MCBC has been a central hub for connecting students from nearby universities. In the early 1990s, the church saw a vision for church planting and began its church planting plan in 1995. Two years later, the Montreal West Chinese Baptist Church was established in Ville Saint-Laurent in the north.
Currently, the tri-lingual congregation (Cantonese, Mandarin and English) has a total congregation of about 150 people. The average attendance at Cantonese worship services is about 80 people. The congregation is mainly composed of Chinese immigrants and their descendants. The three churches are led by a Deacon Board, and each church has its own Ministry Committee to oversee Sunday School, Worship, Mission, Fellowship, Care and Children's Ministry.
Our mission is primarily to follow Jesus closely, live out the life of Christ, and allow people in Montreal and surrounding areas to know Jesus through us and become his disciples.
