The Pastoral Search Team of First Yarmouth (Plains) Baptist Church is seeking a fulltime minister to provide spiritual leadership to its congregation that reflects its commitment “To providing an environment for one to explore, develop and celebrate their faith”. Known as Plains Baptist church we are located in a rural setting 5km south of St. Thomas Ontario.
Overview of Church and Community
Established in 1830 the congregation has worshipped at this location for 192 years and remains a vibrant and active presence. The church is a member of the Elgin Association of Baptist Churches and CBOQ.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Interested candidates should have the following qualifications,
- Be a graduate or graduating from an accredited theological college or seminary
- Have credentials suitable for accreditation with CBOQ
- Be a strong communicator and be self motivated
- Willing to relocate to the area
- Have experience in or be familiar with ministry in a rural church setting
- Strong children/youth ministry an asset
- Possess skills to assist the church in its growth, particularly of younger individuals and families
- Experience in community focused outreach
- Prepare, co-ordinate and conduct regular Sunday Services in close collaboration with other worship leaders (musicians, lay participants, choir)
- Provide pastoral support and spiritual care to congregants and their families
