Reporting to the Senior Pastor, the Mandarin Ministry Associate Pastor will work in collaboration with the Mandarin pastoral staff, deacons and lay leaders in a team approach to holistically minister and support the discipleship of the 150+ members in our Mandarin-speaking congregation.

Scarborough Chinese Baptist Church (SCBC) is an evangelical church with three congregations: Mandarin, Cantonese, and English. We are strategically located in the Greater Toronto Area which is one of the most dynamic and multicultural area in North America. We are seeking a full-time pastor to minister in our Mandarin speaking congregation. The pastor will serve under the leadership of the Mandarin Lead Pastor and in collaboration with the Mandarin pastoral staff, other pastoral staff, deacons and lay leaders in a team approach.

1. Fluency in Mandarin (writing and speaking) and ability to communicate in English (writing and oral). Cantonese speaking is an advantage but not a must.
2. A Master Degree of Divinity (M.Div) or equivalent level of theological education at an Association of Theological Schools (ATS) accredited institution or a Theological School recognized by SCBC.

1. Together with the Senior Pastor and the Mandarin Pastoral Team, provide overall direction, leadership and coordination of ministry within the Mandarin-speaking congregation.
2. Together with the pastoral team for missions and outreach, strategically lead the Mandarin-speaking congregation in outreach ministries.
3. Develop the existing ministries for young adults and young families.
4. Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead and co-ordinate the Worship ministry
5. Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead the Nurture ministry.
6. Together with the Mandarin Pastoral Team, lead the Discipleship Training ministry.
7. As directed by the Senior Pastor, perform general pastoral duties including preaching, teaching, visitation and pastoral counseling.
