At Central Baptist Church, we are a vibrant congregation searching for an enthusiastic lead pastor who is eager and willing to accept the challenge of targeting church growth. We are looking for an approachable, caring, and spiritually mature person of God with strong communication skills. We are asking God for a lead pastor who is effective and powerful in their biblically-oriented preaching, teaching, and evangelism, to effectively create disciples and help us fulfill the Great Commission.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
A minimum of five years of experience working as a pastor in a Baptist Church would be a definite asset, especially a church associated with the Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec (CBOQ). A Masters of Divinity Degree is a requirement for the candidate. The ideal candidate will also have a heart for pastoral care, and the desire to connect with the members of the church to develop closer relationships and mutual care.
Preferred Skills
Musical talents and an interest in joining the worship team are also assets but not a necessity. Willingness to live within the Oakville community is encouraged, and involvement in the community is required. A passion and ability to reach out and contact people within our local community, and to engage with them in seeking a relationship with Jesus Christ is definitely an attribute that would be valuable. The ability to use social media, and to network with those outside the church community would be helpful.
