SUMMARY:Becoming a Welcoming Church for New Canadians
DESCRIPTION:April 19 | April 26 2023      7-9pm online \nCanada is a diverse place\, and our churches are becoming more beautifully reflective of many nationalities and cultures. Even so we know there is much more work to be done. What could a strategy of hospitality look like when welcoming families from other nations? How can we serve newcomers more effectively? What theological framework enables good connections with other cultures? How can we approach people with different worldviews? What stories and examples can help us shape a better welcome of New Canadians? \nJoin us for two exciting evening classes comprised of a combination of presentations\, stories and discussion. Here is an opportunity to become better equipped to offer a more effective welcome to new Canadians. \nRegister: \n\nFill out my online form.\n\n Fill out my Wufoo form!

SUMMARY:Book Study: Backyard Pilgrim
DESCRIPTION:Forge Canada invites you to join the journey of becoming Backyard Pilgrims this February as we enter into the Lenten season. Starting the week of February 19 (Tuesday or Thursday)\, we will be running two book study groups that will be walking through the book\, Backyard Pilgrim\, by Matt Canlis. The groups will be led by Deb Judas and Bob Baumann\, who are both pastors and members of the Forge Canada team. Groups will meet once a week\, over the course of 6 weeks to discuss what they are learning and how they are seeing God at work in their lives and in their neighbourhood. \nBeing part of one of these groups will give you an opportunity to go on this pilgrimage for yourself\, while also seeing if this is something that you might want to take your church through at a later date. Each day there is a reflection (the Bible path) and a time to get out into your community (to walk the parish path). It will give you new lenses in which to see both the scripture passages as well as the people and places in your neighbourhood. \nFor more information on the book or the Godspeed video\, visit their website\, or take some time to watch an interview that Cam did with Matt in 2021. \nRegister here
