Soul Day for Pastors: An Invitation to Retreat
November 2 @ 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
How is your soul? Our world has undergone immense change over the last several months. As pastors and ministry leaders, you have made countless sacrifices and adjustments in your life – personally, at home and at work. You have been our first responders to the needs of our local congregations, and we praise God for you. This is an incredible feat, but it is also incredibly exhausting and overwhelming.
You have been shepherding your congregations and taking care of their souls. We would like to invite you to a space for your own soul.
After returning from being sent out on mission, Jesus invited his disciples to find rest for their souls. He said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls” (Matt. 11:29). In the same way, we would like to invite into a quiet place for rest for your souls: a soul day for CBOQ pastors, ministry leaders, and their spouses — prayer, community, spiritual practices, and rest.
This guided personal retreat experience will provide a blend of online worship and community and off-line personal spiritual practices.
Spiritual Direction is highly encouraged to experience the fullness of the Soul Day for pastors. We have spiritual directors/friends available to help lead you spiritually. A spiritual director is someone trained to help you with your prayer life or your relationship with Jesus. Depending on availability of spiritual directors, we may invite spiritual friends to be present to you by listening to you and praying with you. Spiritual friends will be only members from the CBOQ formation team and the church life and leadership team.
