Journey Together: a series of Conversations on Race and the Church
February 24 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
February 24 | March 10 | April 21 | May 12 at 8pm
CBOQ is hosting a series of four conversations on race and the church. We long to journey together with pastors, church leaders, and churches toward racial justice and equity. This is a crucial topic for the Church today and for future of the Church and CBOQ. We will have different guests journey alongside us for conversations on: race and discipleship, race and individuals, race and families/youth/children, and lastly, race and church cultures. We will seek to have stories told, lessons learned, resources shared and hope expressed.
Hosted by the Intercultural and Racial Justice Working Group
We recognize that talking about race is challenging. We have adapted the format to invite personal and group reflection.
- Register.
- Receive a pre-recorded conversation.
- Reflect on the questions provided.
- Receive what God has spoken to you.
- Gather with Pastors for group reflection and prayer.
Journey Together: Race and Discipleship
Racism is a gospel and discipleship issue. It is integral in terms of the church. How do we disciple the church in matters related to racism? What does racism mean? What does the bible have to say about racism? For our first conversation, we will introduce our Intercultural and Racial Justice Working Group and simply introduce the topic of racism through the bible and theology and personal stories.
