Journey Together: Race and Church Culture
May 12 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
CBOQ is hosting the last in a series of four conversations on race and the church. We long to journey together with pastors, church leaders, and churches toward racial justice and equity. This is a crucial topic for the Church today and for future of the Church and CBOQ. We will have different guests journey alongside us for conversations on: race and discipleship, race and individuals, race and families/youth/children, and lastly, race and church cultures. We will seek to share stories, lessons learned, resources and hope expressed.
Hosted by the Intercultural and Racial Justice Working Group
Racism is part of our culture and it is also part of our church culture. Why is there a lack of diversity in our churches? Do certain people groups not feel welcome or feel marginalized because of the way that we do church? It is not easy to discuss or name this but, we will have a frank and honest conversation around racism in our leadership cultures. How do we develop a culture which embraces all people and gives everyone an equality opportunity to flourish and lead in our churches? Please join us for this very important conversation.
We recognize that talking about race is challenging. We have adapted the format to invite personal and group reflection.
