Giving Tuesday, in Canada, comes after cyber-Monday. It is meant to encourage all Canadians to give, donate, and volunteer a little extra. Hope filled change happens when we are all generous. Here are some tips for participating:
Volunteer
- Check with your church to see if there is an urgent need you can fill by showing up, helping, and praying
- Research ways to get connected to community organizations where you can be the light of Christ (i.e., food banks need sorters, shelters need drivers, shut-ins need meals, etc.)
- Offer your skills to someone in your church who could use a helping hand or a listening ear
- Nominate individuals you know that may be a great fit for positions on the CBOQ Board, CBOQ Executive Committee, Credentials Committee, and more! You can nominate here.
Donate
- It is turning colder, and a lot of people need warm winter gear. Do you have an extra gently used coat hanging in your closet?
- Can you spend under your grocery budget this month and donate the remainder to a local food bank?
- Are you considering where to send your ‘year-end’ financial gifts? Maybe you could donate a little earlier to help charities end the year well.
