17 in 17

Are you interested in committing 17 hours in 2017 to lead your church differently?  You are invited to join one of the 5 CBOQ learning communities that will gather 4 times in 2017. We will explore how God’s Spirit is shaping your leadership story in order to prepare your congregation for its next season of ministry in its neighbourhood and community.

Join other CBOQ leaders for 17 hours of praying,
learning & collaborative engagement.

Our gatherings will be from 10am to 2pm.  It will be a BYBB (bring your brown bag), working lunch.

The gatherings will be a series of teaching modules that will include real life stories and facilitated discussions focusing on you the leader and your church.

Some of the modules will include: Living into your leadership story, church as network, leading out of guiding practices, putting ideas into action, etc.

Starter Requirement
17 hours*

  1. Show up on time for each of the 4 gatherings.
  2. Read the one short article or watch the assigned video for each gathering.

Intermediate Involvement
17 hours
+ 17 hours*

  1. Complete above plus…
  2. Read the one recommended book for each of the 4 gatherings.
  3. Complete the action steps for each gathering.

Advanced Experience
17 hours
+ 17 hours
+ a lifetime

  2. Either…
  • Enter into a coaching relationship for yourself, go to counseling, start meeting with a spiritual director

OR

  • starting / strengthening your commitment to mentoring / facilitating a communal learning experience with mentees or for peers

  1. Hi, I am really interested in participating in the Ottawa gathering. But I already know I have to miss one of the dates as i have a commitment, can I still participate? Or should I not?
