Canadian Baptists of Ontario and Quebec is pleased to announce Rev. Tanya Krahn as the new Children and Family Ministry Coordinator, effective August 20, 2012. Tanya is a proven leader with the necessary gifts and skills to move forward a vision for children and family ministry that will resource, support and empower our churches as they invest into the spiritual development of the next generation.
“Tanya’s strengths will allow us to multiply our impact as we train Children and Family Ministry volunteers and staff throughout our CBOQ churches,” remarks Matt Wilkinson, CBOQ’s Director of Youth Ministries. “I am looking forward to the leadership and experience that Tanya will bring to our family of churches, both as a practitioner and educator of investing into the spiritual journey of children today.”
In her part-time role as Children and Family Ministry Coordinator, Tanya will be a contributing member of the CBOQ Youth and Family Ministry team. She will oversee various training and resourcing initiatives for CBOQ churches seeking to draw out the giftedness of children and families in their midst.
Tanya brings with her a unique blend of hands-on experience in children, youth and family ministry in the local church, along with leadership development and administrative experience. Moreover, she is motivated by the opportunity and privilege to journey alongside others, helping them to discover their God-given gifts and abilities, and equipping them to serve in the area of Children and Family Ministry.
Since 1997, Tanya has served CBOQ in volunteer leadership positions including the CBOQ Board, various committees, retreat teams for CBOQ Youth and the Children’s Ministry Advisory Team.
Tanya is the Director of Child, Youth and Family Ministries at Walmer Road Baptist Church, Toronto. Before this position, Tanya served as Youth Pastor for Toronto Chinese Baptist Church and as a Youth Worker for Blythwood Road Baptist Church, Toronto. She grew up attending Kingsville Baptist Church in Kingsville, ON.
