Earlier this month, five students graduated from the Lay Pastors Training Program (LPTP) at Westview Baptist Church in London, Ontario. Rev. David Stead, pastor of Westview Baptist, summed up the day’s sentiments: “What an honour! A wonderful day! Thanks to all for making dreams come true for the Kingdom of God.”
Over seventy family supporters and well wishers joined the graduates as they proudly received their certificates from Dr. Brian Craig, CBOQ’s Director of Leadership Development. Rev. Paul Kowtecky, pastor of New Dundee Baptist and Homiletics instructor in the program, gave the graduation address by challenging each graduate to fulfill their future ministry for the Master.
The Lay Pastors Training Program is moving to Stanley Park Baptist Church in Kitchener, Ontario, for September 2013. A second Quebec-based cohort will also be forming in Montreal. Applications for both fall programs are currently being accepted from all who seek further theological training for ministry within a small church setting. If you sense God’s call for such training, speak with your pastor and consult our webpage for details: www.laypastor.ca.
