Don’t miss the opportunity to apply for free grant money through the Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) program and hire summer staff for your church. We are grateful that Canada does not exclude religious groups from this funding and urge you to consider it. In the past, several of our churches and ministry organizations have greatly benefitted from participating in this program.
Jim Parker from Bethany Baptist Church in the East York neighbourhood of Toronto took advantage of the opportunity last year. Thanks to the extra funding, Bethany Baptist was able to double the size of its summer ministry team, reaching 44 pre-teens with Vacation Bible School.
“We were able to hire three students last year with the CSJ Grant, allowing us to support a six-member summer camp leadership team. We have seen it greatly augment our school-year ministry too,” Jim commented.
As response times have been delayed in the past, Service Canada has set an earlier date to apply for Canada Summer Jobs 2014: December 2, 2013 to January 31, 2014. This will allow Service Canada to notify grant recipients before University students leave school in the Spring.
