This year, Governor General David Johnston instituted a new commemorative medal to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. The medal represents a significant contribution to a particular community within Canada.
Congratulations to four Diamond Jubilee Medal winners in our midst:
- Jeff McCarrell – for over 20 years ministry with Somali refugees as well as with Middle Eastern and South Asian communities in Etobicoke, ON
- Tim McCallister – for his work with the Amherstburg Food & Fellowship Mission in Amherstburg, ON read more
- Bob Rae – from Lakefield Baptist Church for his service as Chief Radio Operator in the Merchant Navy during World War II
- Michel Belzile – for helping mobilize Greenborough Community Church to serve the needs of their community in Toronto
Congratulations to the medal winners. I wanted you to let you know that Bob Rae of Lakefield Baptist Church was also a recipient. Bob has honored for his service as Chief Radio Operator in the Merchant Navy during World War II.
