Queen's Diamond Jubilee This year, Governor General David Johnston instituted a new commemorative medal to mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s accession to the throne. The medal represents a significant contribution to a particular community within Canada.

Congratulations to four Diamond Jubilee Medal winners in our midst:

  • Bob Rae – from Lakefield Baptist Church for his service as Chief Radio Operator in the Merchant Navy during World War II
